Two Channel Video Installation, 2016

Scar Tissue evokes anxiety from physical decay, the loss of friendships and loved ones growing older. Screen-left is me trying to stay afloat in the ocean. Screen-right is memories of friends and family, and time-lapse clips of food and animals rotting. Underwater sounds mix with the haunting music track Falling Leaf / Fading Flower: Goodbye to Summer by British punk group Eyeless in Gaza. With its wails, sense of passing time and fog horn beacon, the music underscores a desperateness to stay afloat despite life's challenges.
